EHS Manager
Location: Cook County, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $90,000–$105,000 annually
Schedule: Primarily 8:00 a.m., with flexibility to support second shift as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee safety and environmental compliance across multiple manufacturing operations supporting approximately 300 employees. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will lead safety initiatives, employee training, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage EHS programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
• Provide employee safety training and maintain compliance records.
• Oversee machine guarding, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, forklift safety, and hazard communication.
• Manage environmental permits, reporting, hazardous waste records, and regulatory submissions.
• Track safety performance, implement corrective actions, and reduce workplace risks.
• Partner with HR and operations teams to promote a strong safety culture.
• Travel between regional facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of EHS or industrial safety experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and industrial safety practices.
• Experience with safety training, incident investigations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on the manufacturing floor and support multiple shifts as needed.
