DESCRIPTION

Controls Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON
Pay: $75K – $85K
Duration: Full-Time Permanent position

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve PLC and electronic issues of all production machines.
• Troubleshoot electronic equipment controls and power.
• Create reports and/or emails of equipment status to Maintenance and Production staff.
• Schedule and perform Preventative Maintenance programs for Electronic equipment and control cabinets.
• Report on required parts and maintain inventory of critical equipment, by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies for Maintenance.
• Communicate and follow up with purchasing to ensure parts are ordered and received on a timely basis.
• Co-ordinate and establish utility monitoring system with existing and future monitoring devices.
• Maintain all PLC programs and updates for company equipment.

Qualifications

• An accredited college diploma for Electronics and PLC programing.
• Strong knowledge of electronic devices, (VFDs,  Servos, relays, contactors, etc.)
• Experience with Siemens, Omron, AB and Hitachi PLC software brands.
• Must be familiar with Structured Text (ST), Sequential Function Charts (SFC), Ladder Logic Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Instruction List (IL)
• Must be familiar with electro-mechanical equipment.
• Experience with electrical and some mechanical work.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
