Position: Maintenance Manager
Location: Canada, , Edmonton
Salary: $115,000 - 150,000 per year /
Status: Full Time, Permanent

We are currently seeking 2 Maintenance Managers for our client, a leader in the packaging industry providing consumer goods for over 50 years.
Position 1: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Salary $115,000 – $140,000
Position 2: Edmonton, Alberta- Salary $115,000 – $150,000
Direct Reports: 25 Approximately
Plant Size: 250 – 300 employees
Relocation: Negotiable

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, and a key member of the leadership team, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of the maintenance department. The Maintenance Manager provides leadership for the maintenance department and is responsible for the overall maintenance of mechanical, electrical, computer-aided and plumbing technologies used to manufacture, package, store and distribute products.
Impact of role:
- Provide leadership and coaching to a diverse team of trades including Millwrights, Electricians, Stationary/Refrigeration, Contractors, etc.
- Develop sound relationships across the organization and with vendors
- Utilize continuous improvement strategies and remains well-informed of current and future technology
- Ensure that an annual maintenance budget and plan are developed and followed and that cost targets are met
- Provide expert advice and guidance regarding the repair and maintenance of all machines and equipment
- Develop appropriate schedules, manning and material requirements
- Manage and secure all tool requirements
- Oversee outside contractors as needed
Qualifications:
- Certified tradesperson, Engineer or related education
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance management role, within a unionized industrial maintenance environment
- Experience in the Food industry or in high-speed packaging
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration
- Proven leadership skills coupled with ability to effectively manage people in a team environment
- A strong commitment to safety
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, PLCs, parts inventory, cost control, sourcing parts, managing budgets
- A broad understanding of computer-aided processing equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnosing skills, analytical, problem solving and spatial relations abilities
