POSITION: Plant Engineer

DURATION: Full-time permanent position

LOCATION: Scarborough, ON

SALARY: $95,000 – $105,000 per Year (depending on experience)

We’re hiring a Plant Engineer to support operations at our heavy industrial manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work directly with plant systems, equipment, and contractors to keep production reliable, safe, and efficient.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support plant projects, shutdowns, and turnarounds.
• Troubleshoot and optimize equipment and processes to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance for maintenance and operations teams.
• Work with pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, cogeneration, HVAC, refrigeration (ammonia/glycol), and utilities.
• Drive energy management, cost reduction, and sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental standards.
• Be available for occasional after-hours support during production issues or shutdowns.

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• P.Eng. (or working toward licensure) in Ontario.
• Minimum 3–5 years of plant engineering experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting (chemical, petrochemical, or similar).
• Experience working in hazardous environments is an asset.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of steam/condensate systems, power distribution, MCCs, VFDs, and low/high voltage systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and ERP systems (e.g., JDE).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
