One of our leading clients in the Packaging Industry is seeking a Chemical Quality Manager for one of their facilities in Houston, TX (USA).
Main Responsabilitites:
- Supervises the quality department, ensuring efficient operations.
- Recruits, trains, and mentors quality staff to maintain a skilled workforce.
- Establishes and upholds quality-related policies, procedures, and manuals, with a focus on ISO standards.
- Administers quality systems certifications, particularly ISO 9000 and preferably ISO 45001.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Six Sigma and Total Quality Management to lead product and service quality initiatives.
- Monitors employee adherence to quality protocols and procedures across the organization.
- Oversees the resolution of customer complaints, fostering collaboration across departments for effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Manages plant quality metrics and collaborates with the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager on comprehensive quality projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of comprehensive experience in quality management, showcasing strong analytical abilities, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational capabilities.
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems, preferably with SAP experience, and advanced skills in MS Office applications.
- Training and expertise in Six Sigma, 5S, Total Quality Management (TQM), ISO 9001-2015, and lean manufacturing methodologies are highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering is required, or extensive hands-on involvement in the polymer compounding industry in a quality management capacity.
- Essential experience in the manufacturing or processing of polyolefin materials.
- Proficient in statistical analysis, identifying key drivers, and recognizing emerging trends.
